I never get tired of reading these beautiful and heartfelt books with my daughter, and she regularly picks them for me to read to her. Celebrate Earth Day with These Books about Nature!
Throughout my childhood, I have lots of memories of service projects spent gathering recyclables, cleaning parks, or planting trees and flowers. These early experiences with environmentalism have stuck with me. I am thrilled that my daughter has already taken an interest in the topic. Some of this inspiration is based on some of her favorite books. Celebrating Mother’s Day with Mama Bunnies!
We have a lot of bunnies in our yard every year, and my daughter and I love to watch them. We talk about how Mama Bunny keeps an eye on her babies and never lets them get too far. So I love when we find adorable books about Mama Bunnies and babies that celebrate the love between a mother and her child. To celebrate Mother’s Day, and the love between mothers and children, we decided to gather some of our favorite books about bunnies and love. We also created a fun piece of bunny artwork together to go with them!
Learning about Holi with Kids!
Holi is an Indian festival of colors that celebrates the triumph of good over evil, forgetting resentments and welcoming new beginnings. The festival includes lots of singing and dancing, and is well known for the vibrantly colored powders that people throw while celebrating. I am always interested in learning about holidays and traditions from other countries and cultures, and now I get to share them with my daughter as well. Today we are sharing a beautiful children’s book about Holi and creating some fun Holi crafts with all the bright colors!
St. Patrick’s Day Activities with Pete the Cat!
With St. Patrick’s Day around the corner, we have been having lots of fun with rainbows, leprechauns and pots of gold. So we were thrilled to check out this new festive children’s book starring Pete the Cat and pair it with some fun St. Patrick’s Day activities!

There are so many kinds of love, and it is so important that we teach kids that love, kindness and affection are some of the best things in life. I love sharing books about love with my daughter. I want her to know that love isn’t just a sentiment that we say to one another before bed, but that it is something that we feel, and something we should embody.
