Slide and Seek Books

We had the opportunity to check out Slide and Seek: English-Chinese. We had a lot of fun looking through the pictures and sliding the page up to reveal the pronunciations of the Chinese characters labeling each illustration. My daughter loved lifting the slider to uncover the words hidden beneath, and I loved the clear Chinese characters labeling each illustration. This made it easy for us to try to copy them out of the book for our own practice.

The series also includes Slide and Seek: 100 Words and Slide and Seek: English-Spanish.

Let’s Learn Books

The Let’s Learn books are wipe off books that kids can use to practice writing their letters and numbers. They include a washable marker so they can write on the pages over and over again. My daughter had a lot of fun with these. She loved the colorful illustrations and puzzles in the First Number Skills book. I liked that the book included lots of different opportunities for her to count and write, so she didn’t feel like she was just copying the same numbers over and over again.

We also tried the First Alphabet Skills book which offers lots of opportunities to trace letters and words. The font is a bit curvier than standard tracing books, so it may be better suited to kids who already know how to correctly make the letters.

The series includes First Alphabet Skills, First Number Skills, First 100 Words, and First Math.

Fingerprint Friends

The Fingerprint Friends books are brightly colored books that teach kids how to make adorable bits of art with their fingerprints. Each book comes with an ink pad with several different colors. Throughout the book, there are small illustrated examples of fingerprint artwork and steps showing kids how to create them on their own. Each page offers lots of space for kids to practice and add to the illustrated backgrounds.

We had the opportunity to try out Fingerprint Friends and Fingerprint Our World, and we had a lot of fun creating our own little fingerprint works of art. The ink came off of our fingers pretty easily, and the illustrations were easy to replicate.

These new interactive activity books are a lot of fun for little ones (and adults too)! I may have had even more fun with some of them than my daughter did. Not only are these books fun to use together, but kids can also enjoy them on their own. If you are looking for screen free activities for kids, then you definitely want to check them out!
