I always enjoy books that encourage kids to see the strength and bravery that they have inside. I especially love stories that show them how to use their strengths in ways they hadn’t thought of before. Today’s book is about a bear who discovers his own bravery and uses it to become the star of his own story.
I have always enjoyed when authors take familiar stories and poems and put their own spin on it. One of my favorite stories growing up was a twist on the story of the 3 Little Pigs. Since my daughter is already familiar with lots of stories and fairy tales, we have a lot of fun reading different versions of the same stories. Today’s book takes the story of Hansel and Gretel and turns it completely on it’s head. With current jokes, a blast of imagination, and even a stab at sexism in fairy tales, this is a twisted fairy tale that everyone can laugh along with!
We love to dance, so I am always excited to find books that encourage us to get up and get moving. Today we had the opportunity to check out a fun book about a brightly colored and mischievous bear who loves to dance and move.
Valentine’s Day is a fun time to celebrate all kinds of love, friendship, and relationships. I love sharing the holiday with my daughter and taking the opportunity to read more
Snow days can offer beautiful sights, as well as a chance to have all kinds of winter fun. We get a lot of snow where we live, so I love finding children’s books about snow that celebrate all the beauty and fun that winter brings. Today’s book is a tribute to all the fun of playing in the snow, and we paired it with some awesome snowy activities!
I believe that teaching kids to be kind is one of the most important things that we can do for them. It doesn’t cost anything to be kind, and it not only helps those around them, but benefits them as well. There are lots of fun ways to teach kids how to be kind, and I have always loved finding new
The start of winter can be exciting. As some animals begin to hibernate, others get to enjoy the snow and and the beauty and excitement that it brings with it. Today’s book follows a sweet little owl as he experiences his first snow, and we paired it with some fun winter and owl crafts for kids.
Wintertime brings some beautiful sights. From shimmering icicles to smooth frozen ponds, the snow and ice can create a lovely view. While some animals are out enjoying the winter weather, others hide away until the warmer spring days. Today’s book follows a young hedgehog who wants to enjoy all the beauty of winter like the other animals. This children’s book on winter weather gave us the perfect activity to create some winter wonderland crafts.
I love the holidays! Holiday books make up a large part of our collection of Christmas books. To help families get into the holiday spirit and keep learning during the Christmas season, I decided to gather some of my favorite Christmas books and activities for families to enjoy together!
