Bad Brow Cookies

Bad Brows is a silly story by Jason Carter Eaton and Mike Petrik about a young boy whose eyebrows are out of control. We had so much fun creating hilarious frosted cookies to bring the illustrations to life.

Bear Paw Cookies

The story Three Paws by Karen Struck is a sweet story of perseverance following the trials of an injured bear. These easy and delicious bear paw cookies gave us a chance to put a spin on our favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe.

Mini Pumpkin Donut Muffins

After reading the book Pick a Pumpkin by Patricia Toht and Jarvis, we were inspired to join in the fall fun and create some delicious pumpkin donuts. Without a donut pan, we created these tiny treats instead!

Sea Glass Candy

We were inspired to create sweet sea glass candy after reading the beautifully illustrated book Sea Glass Summer by Michelle Houts and Bagram Ibatoulline.

NOT Gingerbread Houses

Josh Funk’s spin on the story of Hansel and Gretel inspired us to build our own twist on classic gingerbread houses with graham crackers and chocolate.

Friendship Pizza

In the story Duck and Hippo: The Secret Valentine by Jonathan London and Andrew Joyner, Pig decides to spread joy with her favorite festive pizza. So we created our own heart shaped pizza to celebrate Valentine’s Day as well!

Little Owl Cookies

Little Owl’s Snow by Divya Srinivasan follows the adorable little owl character as he experiences winter. The sweet illustrations feature the large eyed owl, which inspired us to create these easy Owl Cookies!

Dog Print Cookies

We love Karma Wilson’s books, so we were so excited to bring her book A Dog Named Doug to life with these easy and delicious dog print cookies!

Pile of Bones Skeleton Snacks

In the book Skelly’s Halloween by David Martin and Lori Richmond, a playful little skeleton gets caught in the wind and becomes a pile of bones, requiring the help of passing friends to put him back together. The fun illustrations inspired us to create these bone snacks out of white chocolate and pretzels.

Tricky Tooth Fairy Cookies

The book How to Trick the Tooth Fairy by Erin Danielle Russell and Jennifer Hansen Rolli follows a prank war between a young girl and the tooth fairy. It inspired us to create these tricky cookies with different flavorings and colorful sprinkles.

Kissing Hand Cookies

We love Audrey Penn’s Kissing Hand books. I have lost track of how many times we have read the series, especially the first one. These easy to make cookies pair perfectly with the story, mimicking the kissing hand in the book.

Gingerbread Cookies

There are so many fun twists on the tale of the Gingerbread Man. So it is only right that there are also tons of different ways to make delicious gingerbread cookies. This roundup features some of our favorites.

Strawberry Mice

Frederick by Leo Lionni is a beautiful story about a mouse who prepares for winter by gathering colorful words, and brings warm memories to his family during the coldest months. We brought this story to life with these fun little strawberry mice made out of strawberries and peanut butter.

King Cake Cinnamon Rolls

We brought the New Orleans themed book The Bourbon Street Band is Back by Ed Shankman and Dave O’Neill to life with this fun and easy snack. This simple spin on the Mardi Gras King’s Cake tradition is a colorful way to celebrate Mardi Gras with kids.

Anatole Cheese Mice

After reading Anatole by Eve Titus and Paul Galdone, we were inspired to try different kinds of cheese. So we created this fun cheese tray with little cheese mice!

Edible Forts

The book Fort Building Time by Megan Wagner Lloyd and Abigail Halpin inspired us to try to build some forts and structures of our own. By creating structures out of marshmallows, we had fun with STEM concepts and had a delicious snack.

Making Friends Muffins

After reading Piggy: Let’s Be Friends by Trevor Lai, we were inspired to bake blueberry muffins, just like the ones in the book.

Mud Puddle Surprise Snack

The book Watch Out for Muddy Puddles by Ben Faulks and Ben Cort celebrates the fun of jumping in muddy puddles, while finding some surprises beneath the surface. This inspired us to create some delicious chocolate pudding snacks with a peanut butter surprise hidden beneath.

Dirt Brownies

Roy Digs Dirt by David Shannon is a hilarious tale of a dog who loves to dig in the dirt. We were inspired by this story to create some yummy Dirt Brownies covered in chocolate whipped topping and crumbled brownie bits.
