Clifford the Big Red Dog: The Movie Graphic Novel

Adapted by Georgia Ball

This graphic novel shares the story of Clifford the Big Red Dog and his owner Emily Elizabeth. The story follows the plot of the new live-action movie, sharing how Clifford, Emily Elizabeth and their friends work together to save Clifford from a genetics company that wants to study him. Kids will love the colorful illustrations of the large lovable dog. Recommended age: 7-10 years

Spider-Ham: Great Power, No Responsibility

Written by Steve Foxe and illustrated by Shadia Amin

This funny superhero graphic novel follows the not-so-smart Spider-Ham as he accidentally swings off with a key that can unlock the most important buildings in New York City. Kids will love watching Spider-Ham try to figure out where he lost the key, while encountering characters like Squawkeye and Scarlet Pooch. Recommended age: 7-10 years

Minnie Mouse: Big Dreams

Written by Brooke Vitale

This adorable graphic novel follows a tiny Minnie Mouse as she encounters her first day of school. She soon befriends a tiny Daisy Duck, and together they are able to face their fears and solve their problems together. Kids will love the illustrations and the cute tiny versions of their favorite characters. Recommended age: 7-10 years

Miles Morales: Shock Waves

Written by Justin A. Reynolds and illustrated by Pablo Leon

This middle grade graphic novel follows Miles Morales, Brooklyn’s Spider-Man as he tries to set up a fundraiser to help earthquake-devastated Puerto Rico, and find a new student’s missing father. The dark illustrations set the tone for the pulse pounding adventure ahead for Miles Morales. Recommended age: 8-12 years

Anti/Hero

Written by Kate Karyus Quinn and Demitria Lunetta and illustrated by Maca Gil

This graphic novel tells the story of two 13 year old girls: Piper Pajaro and Sloane MacBrute. They are completely different from one another, with one having superhuman strength and one having evil-genius level smarts. So when a mission to steal some experimental technology causes them to switch bodies, they have to learn to work together to switch back. Recommended age: 8-12 years

Primer

Written by Jennifer Muro and Thomas Krajewski and illustrated by Gretel Lusky

When 13 year old Ashley Rayburn finds a stash of enhanced body paints, she finds out that they can turn her into a superhero. But these new powers draw the attention of a government agency who start to hunt her down, putting her newfound family and friends in jeopardy. This girl power story combines art and superhero stories to create an uplifting and dramatic tale. Recommended age: 8-12 years

Lois Lane and the Friendship Challenge

Written by Grace Ellis and illustrated by Brittney Williams

This graphic novel follows teenage Lois Lane as she attempts to make her video channel go viral with a Friendship Challenge. But missing fireworks from the neighborhood and issues with her best friend could disrupt Lois’ plans for an epic summer. Kids will appreciate watching Lois face recognizable issues with friendship and social media. Recommended age: 8-12 years

Teen Titans Go! To Camp!

Written by Sholly Fisch and illustrated by Marcelo DiChiara and more!

This fun story follows the Teen Titans as they head to summer camp. But when they reach the camp, they find out it isn’t the fun and games they were hoping for. Can they beat the other bunks and become camp champions, despite the craziness around them? The illustrations use lots of fiery backgrounds to highlight the chaos of the nightmare camp. Recommended age: 8-12 years

DC Super Hero Girls: Weird Science

Written by Amanda Deibert and illustrated by Yancey Labat, Erich Owen, and more

This fact filled graphic novel follows Zee Zatara as she tries to help her friends with their projects for the science fair at Metropolis High. But each project she helps with starts to go wrong, and she worries that her magic is to blame. This book is a fun way for kids to learn about science through the antics of their favorite superhero girls. Recommended age: 8-12 years

Death and Sparkles

Written by Rob Justus

This funny story follows Death and Sparkles, the last remaining unicorn, as they become friends and find solace in one another. When the world starts freaking out about them being friends, they have to decide what is most important to them. Kids will love the silly situations and the interesting combination of Death and Unicorns. Recommended age: 10-14 years
