The Lit for Little Hands series from Familius has been adapted by Brooke Jorden and illustrated by David Miles. These books each use original text from the book they are adapting, giving readers a taste of the tone and style of the story, while still being easy for kids to understand. They are short enough to keep the attention of very young kids, while still maintaining the integrity of the story. The books are full of interactive elements, including pull tabs, spinning wheels, and more movable parts.

My daughter is a huge fan of this series, so she frequently asks me to read them with her. She also loves to sit down and read them on her own – which I love! These also make great gifts for baby showers, to help your loved ones start their own library.

Lit for Little Hands: Christmas Carol

This adaptation of the classic Christmas story introduces young kids to the tale of Ebeneezer Scrooge without being too scary, or overwhelming. The text includes important quotations from the original story that will stick with the reader, and the cartoon style illustrations make the spirits in the story less intimidating. Each of the characters is also labeled in the illustrations to help kids recognize who everyone is.
