They inspire us, they ground us, and they bring us together. To celebrate the magic of books and reading, I decided to gather this list of children’s books celebrating books!

I learned the importance of literacy and learning from my parents. While my sister and I were growing up, my parents were always reading to us, providing us with reading materials, and encouraging us to problem solve and learn every single day. Now that I am a mother, I have continued the same traditions with my daughter as well. From reading to her every single day, to finding small ways to teach her everywhere we go, there are lots of ways that I encourage her early love of reading and learning.
I have mentioned in the past that I didn’t have the best experiences with science in school. So as an adult, I love all of the toys and science books for kids that encourage a love of science at an early age. I want my daughter to get excited about science now, so that when it comes time to learn it in school, she already has positive feelings associated with it. I was thrilled when we had the opportunity to check out two of the newest releases from Chris Ferrie, one of my favorite science authors for kids!
When it comes to first friends, how many of us can count a specific stuffed animal? There is something special about the relationship that kids develop with their toys. The idea has launched countless franchises (hello Winnie the Pooh!) because it is something that we are all familiar with. I knew that I wanted to teach my daughter sign language when she was a baby, and she quickly picked up a couple of words.
Music can be incredibly powerful. A song can evoke a memory, make us wonder, or give us something to think about. There are lots of wonderful children’s books about musicians and the songs that have made a difference in our society. So, today I have gathered 13 of them to share with you.
Autism Spectrum Disorder is often misunderstood, leading to lots of confusion for kids and adults alike. Books are a great way to introduce kids to the topics of neuro-diversity and the idea that their friends may think and feel differently than they do. Today’s book is a great resource for teaching kids about
I am a huge Disney fan, and I am raising my daughter to be one as well. I spend my day watching Disney shows, singing Disney songs and reading Disney books. When I saw that there was a YA series that takes beloved Disney tales and turns them on their heads, I was very excited to check it out. These twisted Disney tales bring your favorite characters to life with deeper backstories, emotions and issues. I started out reading the twisted version of Aladdin, and I’m so glad I did!
