I love living in a place that gets to experience all of the seasons. Sometimes we may feel that winter fades directly into summer, and we are usually looking forward to the next season. But I appreciate the different weather that we do get to see. So to celebrate all of the beautiful seasons and the wonderful changes that happen every few months, I decided to gather some of our favorite new children’s books about seasons. We also decided to commemorate our favorite parts of each season with individual handprint paintings that can be combined to make one large piece!

There are sometimes when I think my Netflix subscription is just an expensive way for me to binge watch my favorite shows repeatedly. Honestly at this point I should have just bought The Office on DVD. I would have saved a ton of money by now. But we go back to our favorites for a reason. Because it is comforting to fall back into old patterns and revisit old themes. With that in mind, when looking for a new book to jump into, it can be helpful to look back to the things you already enjoy. Take a look at the list below to see what book matches up to your favorite show.
April means Spring time is finally upon us. So whether we are splashing in the puddles, enjoying the sunshine, or wandering through the garden, it is the perfect time of year to learn about nature. Today we had the opportunity to check out an adorable new book about the water cycle, and how it affects the world around us. We also paired it with some fun water cycle activities that can also help kids with fine motor skills and counting.
What is it about vehicles and trucks that keeps a child’s interest? Most kids are fascinated by construction vehicles of all kinds. Whenever there is work done on our street and there are bulldozers or trucks outside, my daughter is glued to the window watching everything they are doing. Luckily there are lots of wonderful children’s books about construction vehicles and trucks to teach them about the different machines and the jobs that they do.
Holi is an Indian festival of colors that celebrates the triumph of good over evil, forgetting resentments and welcoming new beginnings. The festival includes lots of singing and dancing, and is well known for the vibrantly colored powders that people throw while celebrating. I am always interested in learning about holidays and traditions from other countries and cultures, and now I get to share them with my daughter as well. Today we are sharing a beautiful children’s book about Holi and creating some fun Holi crafts with all the bright colors!
