My daughter and I are huge fans of Karma Wilson’s books. Her Bear books are in constant rotation in our read aloud line up, and my daughter already names her as her favorite author. So as dog lovers, we were so excited when we heard that she was writing a new book about a dog named Doug. This adorable story gave us the opportunity to engage in some dog activities too!

Fall is almost here, which means it’s time to start thinking about pumpkins, apples, and fall festivals! Fall is my favorite time of year, and I love visiting the apple orchards and pumpkin patches with my family. Our neighbor is unintentionally growing pumpkins this year (squirrels love to bury pumpkin seeds it seems), so we have had the opportunity to watch them grow from vines into flowers, and finally into pumpkins. To celebrate the start of fall and continue our pumpkin education, I decided to gather a list of fun children’s books about pumpkins. From board books to picture books, and even non-fiction reads, there is a little something for everyone!
I love
As a teacher, I had a lot of experience learning about different learning styles, multiple intelligence’s, and learning disabilities. I am always thrilled when I find books that represent kids with different learning styles in a positive and empowering light. So I was thrilled to have the opportunity to check out this book series celebrating how we learn!
Books are magical. They can teach us, transport us, make us feel safe, push us out of our comfort zones, and make us feel like we know people and places that have never even existed. Books can teach us about the world, and they can teach us about ourselves. From the very beginning, books and reading can have a transformative effect on your life. Today, we had the opportunity to check out a book that shows what makes books special, and how they can transform your life. It offers an opportunity to think about the books that inspire and shape you as well.
I love finding or creating items that can be used for lots of different educational activities. When I stumbled on this set of alphabet clothespins in the Target Dollar Spot, I was really excited about all of the possibilities. We had a lot of fun playing letter recognition games with these. In addition to letter recognition and fine motor skills, these easy to make manipulatives can help kids work on a variety of skills.
Building with blocks is a time honored tradition for kids. There are so many wonderful lessons that can be taught from building with blocks. Today we are thrilled to share an incredible book that is full of fun STEAM projects using LEGO bricks!
It’s almost time to head back to school! The start of the school year can be a little overwhelming for little ones, and books are a great way to help them ease into the transition. Today’s book is a fun way to celebrate the start of kindergarten with a fun pirate twist, and our back to school games will kick the year off right!
Books provide a window to our world without ever leaving your own home. They are magical portals to worlds only available in our dreams and our imagination. They inspire us, they ground us, and they bring us together. To celebrate the magic of books and reading, I decided to gather this list of children’s books celebrating books!
