It’s time to head back to school, which means it’s time for new back to school books for kids! We love adding to our back to school collection of books, so we are excited to share these new books about school and starting a new year.

I am often asked which books are the best for building a home library. There are so many amazing books out there, that narrowing it down to the “best” is nearly impossible! So I decided to share a list of our top 10 favorite books for a family library, as well as categories that I recommend filling.

Hanukkah is right around the corner and my daughter is excited. We don’t celebrate Hanukkah, but when she first learned about the holiday last year, she got so excited that she wanted to learn all about it. A friend of ours sent us a video of her lighting the candles and saying the blessing, and it just inspired her to learn more. So I decided to gather a list of children’s books about Hanukkah to help us learn more about the holiday and the traditions.
Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks, being with loved ones, and of course, eating delicious food. The season is full of wonderful traditions and important lessons. These are beautifully portrayed in so many wonderful children’s books. We have had a lot of Thanksgiving themed fun over the years, so I decided to gather up some of our best Thanksgiving activities for kids, and fun seasonal books to pair with them!
It’s that time of year again! As you check things off the school supply list and start to prepare for buses, homework and field trips, check out some of these fun read-alouds to prepare kids for the adventures ahead. Whether your kids are excited or anxious for the first day, there is something for every on this list!

I loved my birthday when I was growing up. I was always a shy kid, but if there was one day when I didn’t mind the attention, it was on my birthday. My parents made our birthdays special with lots of fun traditions that I plan to carry on with my daughter. We were allowed to pick a restaurant for dinner and choose the kind of cake we wanted to have at home. Every year we also took a birthday quiz that my mom saved for us, so we can now look back at how our answers changed over the years. (We may have whined about taking it some years, for which I am sorry Mom!). Since my daughter is starting to understand birthdays now, I decided it would be fun to start some of these birthday traditions with her this year.
What comes to your mind when you think of the Fourth of July? In addition to celebrating our country’s independence, it also brings to mind lots of happy summer memories and celebrations for me. From fireworks and cookouts to picnics and beach trips, there are a lot of symbols and traditions that people connect with the holiday. There are a lot of great Fourth of July books to introduce kids to all the excitement of the holiday! I hope you find some new family favorites to share while celebrating America’s birthday!
My father is one of my favorite people. He makes us laugh, he makes us feel loved and he teaches us everything from history, to movie facts, to random trivia. As I began searching for books about Dads, I was pleased to find several that portray the special relationship between fathers and children, as well as the many hats that fathers often wear. From books that celebrate spending time with your dad, to books about “dad humor”, there is a little bit of fun for all kinds of fathers. I hope you enjoy sharing these books with the great fathers in your life!
Easter is just around the corner! There are so many great children’s books available to help kids to get into the spirit of the holiday. From funny to serious, there is something for everyone.
